We would like to welcome Inspection Works as our new training body. The CEO of the company is Andreas Vestre who has long experience with teaching FROSIO courses. As of now, Inspection Works hold surface treatment courses in Norwegian and English.
The last FROSIO board meeting in 2023, was held at Jotun facilities in Sandefjord 06 December 2023. The FROSIO Board and Secretariat wishes the whole FROSIO family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May Christmas bring joy, warmth and happiness to you and your loved ones.
FROSIO Award 2023 was presented at Overflate Conference 2023 in Bergen.
The award may be given to individuals, companies, certification bodies, public bodies, schools, etc. and candidates may be nominated by all members of FROSIO within the given deadline. Proposed candidates should have carried out a solid effort promoting development in the subjects of surface treatment and/or insulation.
The winners of the FROSIO Awards 2023 were:
Surface treatment:
Torbjørn Lie from Lie Overflate AS. Was awarded the prize for active involvement at various levels within the profession of surface treatment. Especially his persistent efforts to ensure that we have increased focus on the recruitment challenges within our industry.
Insulation:
Eivind Oen from Oceaneering AS. Received the award for extraordinary efforts to increase the quality of insulation work through all his FROSIO courses. Eivind has also actively contributed to the Frosio Book, both for surface treatment and insulation.

The 8th FROSIO International Conference was held in Florence, Italy the 14th and 15th of September. Participants from examination bodies, training bodies, members, our Board and Secretariat were present. Countries represented were Italy, France, Norway, Germany, Japan, Czech Republic, and South Korea. The conference gives us opportunity to inform and discuss our activities and any future wishes. We also had a very nice social gathering that was much appreciated.
General Manager at FROSIO Ole Stræte and Project Manager Lars Laugen visited the European Technical Insulation Championships held in Feuchtwangen – Germany 20-21 September.

We congratulate Jæren Overflatebehandling AS on their achievement to receive a certificate according to FROSIO-GUID-CP in Scandinavia. This was celebrated with cake and flowers from FROSIO Chairman Trond Soltvedt and Project Manager Lars Laugen.
We are happy to announce that we have 2 new companies that have been certified according to Quality Management Guideline for Companies Working in The Field of Corrosion Protection.
Certificate 004 has been awarded to Jæren Overflatebehandling AS and we are proud to announce that they are the first company in Norway to be certified. They work in the area of sales, project management and application of Corrosion Protection. They are certified with comprehensive level for FROSIO-CP-C. The CP-Process Manager is Mr. Paul Finn.
Equally proud we have also certified our first company in Poland, Stocznia Szczecińska “Wulkan” Sp. z o.o. with certificate 005. They are located in Szczecin with main activity being new construction and repair of vessels, offshore and onshore structures. They are also certified with comprehensive level for FROSIO-CP-C. The CP-Process Manager is Ms. Kinga Łuczka-Wilk.

FROSIO has recently been recertified our accreditation according to ISO 17024 for another 5 years, until 03.03.2028. We are happy to have our strict quality standards validated by Norsk akkreditering.

FROSIO is happy to announce that Mr. Lars H. Laugen has been employed by FROSIO. He will have title Project Manager.
Due to increasing activity the FROSIO Board has decided to increase staff in our Secretariat. We are happy that Lars will start working for FROSIO. He has long experience in field of surface treatment, insulation, and welding. He holds both FROSIO Surface Treatment and Insulation level III and has besides doing consulting work, held several FROSIO courses.
We welcome Lars to FROSIO.
For the first time, FROSIO is attending MECOC (Middle East Metallurgy Corrosion & Coatings) in Dubai, UAE.
