{"id":373,"date":"2013-04-25T05:56:14","date_gmt":"2013-04-25T05:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tekle-consulting.no\/sites\/frosio\/training-and-certification\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T09:17:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T09:17:03","slug":"training-and-certification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frosio.no\/en\/training-and-certification\/","title":{"rendered":"Training and Certification"},"content":{"rendered":"<section  class='av_textblock_section av-1ckqt-419929d451e0f173f232e6316041fe06 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h3>Requirements for Approval and Certification<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend a training course\u00a0in inspection of either surface treatment or insulation<\/li>\n<li>The course to have a duration of 80 hours provided by a FROSIO approved training body<\/li>\n<li>Pass both theoretical and practical exams<\/li>\n<li>Document relevant experience and inspection experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Certification levels and validity<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"content-block\">FROSIO certification scheme has three different levels<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inspector candidate certificate Level\u00a0 I \u2013 White\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates with no relevant experience or less that required for level\u00a0 II-Green<\/li>\n<li>Valid for 5 years from first issue date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Inspector certificate Level\u00a0 II &#8211; Green\n<ul>\n<li>Candidate with minimum 2 years relevant experience<\/li>\n<li>Valid for 5 years from first issue date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Inspector certificate Level III \u2013 Red\n<ul>\n<li>Candidate\u00a0 with at least 5 years relevant experience whereof minimum 2 years shall be documented inspection experience<\/li>\n<li>Valid for 5 years from first issue date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE!<\/strong> Certificates that are not renewed within six (6) months of expiration date are invalid and the holder must take a new examination. In this case a new training course is not required.<\/p>\n<h3>Relevant Experience<\/h3>\n<p><strong>SURFACE TREATMENT<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWork directly connected to pre-treatment of metallic surface, application of paint and other coatings for corrosion prevention and the inspection of such work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INSULATION<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWork related to planning, production or installation of insulation materials and systems<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>:<br \/>\nSuch experience may be obtained within one or more of the field of\u00a0 shipbuilding industry, marine and offshore installations,\u00a0energy and\u00a0power industry, roads and railroads,\u00a0or industrial plants. Furthermore, experience of workshops, building industry, chemical process and paint coating industries will be considered as relevant.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Re-Examination<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The requirement for certification is that you pass both the theoretical and practical FROSIO examination. You can attend a re-examination if you did not pass one or both of the examinations, and we recommend that you participate the new examination(s) as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>If you have passed one of the examinations, it is valid up to five (5) years. After this date, it is invalid and you must attend both examinations.<br \/>\nYou have three attempts to pass the examinations. If you still do not pass, you must attend a new training course.<\/p>\n<p>Contact the training body directly to register for a re-examination.
